Alicat Hazardous Environment Instruments

Alicat Scientific's CSA approved hazardous environment (-X) option was designed to be used by customers with hazardous environments. The CSA approved option can be added to any Alicat product family where deemed
by the customer. The CSA approved device is NOT a stripped down version of Alicat's popular flow and pressure product. Rather it shares almost all
of the standard features our customers have come to expect from the Alicat product. The only omission is the power jack and 8 pin mini din. They are replaced by
the locking 6 pin industrial connector. Alicat's innovative digital display is part
of the CSA approved device.
Alicat's digital display allows users to monitor flow, temperature and
pressure data in real time. The display also allows the user to make functional changes to the unit like changing the measured
gas, set point control and taring without the need for digital communication or special software.

Often times, explosion proof devices are stripped of all "unnecessary" functionality to reduce power consumption and creation of heat.
The Alicat device, by it's nature, consumes very little power and as such was able to pass the stringent CSA approval process with
the display intact. This allows users of this device in hazardous environments the flexibilty of having an on-board display for
quick visual verification of mass flow meter or mass
flow controller operation.
The Alicat CSA approved -X option can be added to any of the Alicat family of flow and pressure products.
CSA approval typically substitutes for UL conformance requirements. Please contact Alicat Scientific if you have
